Explanations Just Don’t Cut It

As it turns out, even the transportation authorities are at a loss for words at times. Were “obstacle” not enough of an explanation, they turned to the most descriptive word in the English vocabulary: “thing.” From now on, if a train is delayed, I’ll know it wasn’t due to a storm, flood, ferocious winds, human error, apparent suicide, or power outage at traffic control.

It was the abominable “obstacle thing.”
