It felt wonderfully warm on Sunday, and the season is swiftly changing from barely-there spring to full fledged warm summer. Gone are the chilly days and temperamental degree changes of spring. Here it’s finally warm and sunny. (Better enjoy before rainy season!)
Sunday was Mother’s Day and a happy one at that. My mother may be thousands of miles away, but it doesn’t mean I didn’t wish her the best in thought from afar.
We had a tasty lunch in Kichijoji, which we finally ventured out to on a lovely afternoon. From small streets to fresh air, Kichijoji is the perfect place to escape the city so close at hand. A stroll through Inakaoshira Park around the lake was perfect on its own. Add a temple hidden within its leafy cover and a small arts and crafts fair, and there’s no doubt that we had a wonderful afternoon.
For a flavorful, fresh lunch, try 八十八夜. Despite a small wait for seating, it was a nice experience eating there and relaxing over cold drinks.
